CEA 2020 Legislative Priorities

The 2020 Connecticut General Assembly is in session and the CEA is actively working with legislators to address teacher concerns.  This year’s top teacher legislative priorities include protecting local public school funding, securing teacher pensions and repealing the 1% teacher tax, providing a safe and secure learning environment, protecting teachers’ rights to negotiate, promoting minority teacher recruitment, and protecting teachers against unsubstantiated DCF claims.

Come join us at a meeting! We want to hear from you as we plan how to educate ourselves and others on legislation and changes affecting schools. Come to stay informed, come to spread the word, come to be an advocate. Contact Corinne Colman with any questions b47ccolm@mpspride.org

Last year the Political Action Committee was busy as we hosted an evening to find out about Connecticut’s legislative agenda; met with our Representatives Jeff Currey and Jason Doucette; and attended Board of Education budget meetings.
